Aside from the spread of data outlined below, what will be immediately obvious is that the sizeable variation in the levels of spending has persisted. North Lincolnshire spent just 17.2% of their total allocation (!), with Stratford-upon-Avon spending 188.9%. In total, the underspend returned to the DWP comes to £7,235,868 – money which could otherwise be put to good use helping those affected by a whole range of reforms to housing benefit.
